Hijacking your thread with an alt question.

Anybody know about the future of ArchHurd? Can I shitpost with it?
>>
>>56974737
Yeah.
>>
>>56974738
Hurd is vaporware, anon.
>>
>>56974766
Wikipedia says the last version of ArchHurd was released 2011. Did everyone did abandon it? Can I use a browser with it?
>>
>>56974336
fluxbox
>>
>>56974336

+1 to i3
>>
>>56974336
depends on what you want.
openbox, fluxbox or xfwm4 if you want one that's easy to get into.
awesome, i3, xmonad, dwm or spectrwm if you want tiling
bspwm, ratpoison or herbstluftwm if you want manual tiling
2bwm or cwm if you want a more minimalistic floating wm
>>
>>56974930
Seconded, especially good if you're running it on a laptop, you practically don't use the trackpad with i3.
>>
>>56974336
kwin
>>
>>56974336
Install lxdm and then install a shit load of WMs and try one for a day or two and pick one you like and remove whatever you don't. I personally use i3 and love it. Get i3 gaps from yaourt and have fun. It is the same as normal i3 except you have a few more commands in the i3 config file. Namely gaps inner and gaps outer. Go look on unix porn to find some dots you can base your config off.

All you gotta do is use the Hot New Stuff buttons inside KDE settings modules.

Dunno why people gotta try so hard to rice when you can reach comfy status with very little effort

>>
>>56975361
i don't give a fuck about the ricing aspect i just want a non-clunky fast desktop environment

+1, definitely i3. very easy setup, easy to use. Does have floating and stacking support but it's nothing special

If the OP has not been scared off by all these faggots then try I would suggest they try antergos or manjaro.

Manjaro would most likely be the best bet. It is basically arch but a little more forgiving and has a de installed. learn to use a cli eventually though op. I come from the school of thought that the more tools the better, you just have to know which tools are best for you to do the job.
>>
>>56975538
This. Manjaro has a preinstalled i3 version too with everything configured nicely although the bright green is cancer. I just use arch because I can just upload my dotfiles somewhere and then download them later if I ever need a reinstall. No point in overcomplicating things.
>>
>>56974737
Basically if you are not an idiot you will catch how to configure it just from their manual. You will learn basics of lua too so it's a win-win. That's how I learned it.

Ps awesome is awesome
