Of course not.

Windows server and all that is good for one job and linux based is better for other jobs.
I know a lot of my fellow freetards want Linux to be a monopoly everywhere but if you ask me Windows and Linux server shares and usage are a great mix right now, even better with MS being more friendly with Linux in the cloud.

Windows will go extinct pretty soon.

1. Google is winning the home automation monopoly, there's no other competition. Amazon echo will not stand a chance.

2. Syncing between devices (Chromecast/Google Now) is made easier. People will be more interested to sync their apps on their notebooks.

3. Desktop market is dying. I know it's hard for wincrap fanboys to digest but it's a true fact. Notebooks deprecated the desktop market, now tablets are deprecating notebooks. Microsoft realised it and tried with surfacebook but iPads and Galaxy tablets are far more popular.

3. Most people these days are dependant on tablets. Office suit, Banking apps, Social apps, Productivity apps are all available in tablets.

4. Gaming console monopoly? Sony won already. Cry harder.

5. Even if google Fuscia/Andromeda project turns out to be successful I'd be happy to see another open source competitor emerging. Magenta is a Linux fork :)

Face it, windows is a past relic. It never won server market share, it never won mainframes, it never won embedded devices, the only place it won is in dying desktop market share.

On top of that, for the first time in history windows market share dropped below 90% after the forced updates to windows 10 took off.

Cry all you want but windows legacy is ending soon.

Spiceworks is pretty much industry standard for network management and monitoring. It's used in heterogeneous networks to monitor servers with all operating systems.

Sure thing. Except no, it doesn't. And that isn't even relevant, because that's not a real life scenario. No business uses Microsoft Office on Linux. Plenty of people actually run Apache on Windows though.

Great thread.

>At least you tried

You have to understand Linux users' standards are pretty low because they're used to subpar software.

GNU/Linux set the bar so low for them that what you see in that video is what they consider "running", that's why they think Microsoft Office "runs" on Linux.
