To be fair, it is a prototype. They might iron that out in the future.

Maybe, just maybe it was made with non-gamers in mind?
You do realize that the 100hz,120hz and 144hz experience is mindblowing just for moving around the mice, explorer objects and any kind of general use that does not involve playing videogames.

Anyways, holy shit is that THICCCCCCCCCC

Am I the only one who prefer VA's black levels and contrast ratios to IPS' color accuracy? Implying I notice that the colors are off unless I edit pictures or have a properly calibrated, pitch perfect IPS panel next to the screen.
>>
Give it 3-5 years and these are going to be sold to consumers at fairly reasonable prices.
>>
>>56948088
I don't think you're the only one. Samsung's LCD TVs are all VA, while LG uses IPS etc.

Definitely, since basically any screen can be color calibrated but you can't fix shitty black levels caused by the panel type.
>>
What does "full HDR colour support" even mean?
Does it support 100% Rec. 2020?
>>
>>56948234
Its a fucking meme.
What content will get the use of it?
Name content that can get usage of 10bit panels.
Its all a fucking joke, its for working only there is no content for any of this shit.

PS4 games.
>>
>>56948264
Name PS4 Pro game that can upscale to 8K or has native 8K.
Name PS4 Pro titles that support "HDR" out of the door.
>>
>>56948269
All vanilla PS4s got a patch that allows them to support HDR content alongside PS4 Pros. HDR isn't PS4 Pro exclusive.

That being said, Mankind Divided was just patched to support HDR, and I'm reasonably sure games like Horizon Zero Dawn are supporting HDR 10bit right out of the gate since they've already shown off HDR for that game at trade shows.

I dunno about 8k games on PS4 pro, but the PS3 had Okami HD which was 4k downsampled to 1080p. Maybe something similar will happen on PS4 Pro.
>>
>>56948251
Would like to know too. So far the HDR seems nothing more than a marketing term. To qualify as a HDR screen, does the screen itself have to be able to display a wide enough color gamut? Inb4 it's something as retarded as the display has to be able to process high bit depth signals but there's no qualification for the panel's actual output.
>>
>>56948306
Only televisions are really supporting a proper color gamut, so yes. Most PC monitors either support 8bit or are 6bit pretending to be 8bit if you're going for a really cheap panel.

The real problem is that there are televisions with true 10bit and "Fake" ~10 bit (2FRC + 8 bit) TVs right now.
