Aside from the hideous logo on the space bar, does this look worthwhile? I just want something cheap to occasionally use with my laptop at home.

I'd say post this in the mech keyboard thread, but this is more tech relevant than 80% of the other threads.

its a 35 dollar keyboard, its fine. if your cheap you can try a coolmaster quickfire, I got mine for like 50 bucks on sale. the most basic ass mechanical keyboard around. I like it enough, got it mostly to test out a cherry reds. (way better then regular dum dum keyboards but still loud and not as good as a full clicky kind.)

I would 100% but this if it was $50 and had a numpad
Honestly I'd like something nicer than OP in the long run because I'll end up using it with a tower once I get a new machine to be shared in the living room, but I'm nowhere near ready to invest $200+ into a mech board and I want to find a middle ground for now. Most of my keyboards up til now have been hand-me-downs or shit that a school/business was already throwing away.
Go with this

Why do people love backlit keyboards so much?
>looks tacky as shit
>distracting
>only of use if you have no idea where the keys are because you've just started using computers and are in the dark

I've never had a backlit keyboard and I don't particularly seek them out, but I actually can't fully touch-type and be accurate without being really slow. I don't like having my room bright/lit all the time so I could see legit use for a backlit keyboard since I'm uniquely retarded with my typing.
Since I happen to also need a mouse I'm probably going with the CM Devestator II. I'll probably be upset if I can't turn off the backlight.

Also no argument on the tacky comment, It's like when people customize cars with ugly neons
That said, it's done really nicely/much mor subtly on some keyboards. They just tend to cost $100+.

I like backlights for the num, scroll and caps lock keys. Pity I have to buy a full backlit keyboard and turn everything else off in order to get it.
Sometimes it is kinda hany when it isn't quite dark enough that you want to turn on a light but just a little too dark to be able to easily see the keys when programming.
