Is there anyone who uses guix as package manager? I plan to do so on my arch gnu+linux machine and to use pacman only for the minimal system programs like init, kernel, grub, lvm, etc.
pic unrelated.

shameless self bump
no one uses guix here???
What's guix
>>56930332
fsf certified gnu+linux distro or its package manager.

Why not trisquel
>>56930405
Trisquel doesn't have functional package manager with roll-back feature, but guix does.

That's not really enough for me to switch OS though
>>56930439
I want to use up-to-date softwares and arch does suppport those but without stability. roll-back feature ensures that you can back to the environment before you update, and it is crucial for the people who use unstable softwares.
use nix, it's better supported

nix seems neat but doen't look like respect your freedom. in the same vain arch doesn't so neither, so I have a plan to switch to paranola someday too.

Parabola
Just switch to Gentoo already.
>>56931618
has "emerge" roll-back feathre?
If linux distributions were diets. Parabola would be veganism. Gentoo would be soilent. Arch would a small meal with 3 vegetables some potatoes and some meat. Ubuntu would be a 12 course meal except you don't like half of them. Mint would be a three course well presented meal with a chance of food posoning.
