You installed it on the wrong hard drive and now you're blaming everyone else for your own stupidity.
Hope you learned your lesson you fucking retard.

If you didn't install it on the wrong HDD, what reason do you have to expect that it would keep your old files? Have you never installed an OS before? Are you mentally challenged?

Oh you are fucked mate
Install Gentoo is a new 4chan prank which is like delete system 32. Gentoo is a complex virus which requires to be configured to your computer, that's is why it takes too long to install. Now Gentoo is on your computer you cannot get it off no matter how hard you try (inserted into the processor hard drive) and it will slowly use up all your ram. The only way to be sure of getting rid of it to buy a new computer (an iMac is good because they can't get viruses) but you might also need to replace your internet box.
Sorry about your cartoons

OP has some basic learning to do. Always back up. I don't care if you think you don't need to, if you want to save data, have copies somewhere. That's always been a rule of computing. How dare you not obey it?

Always do practice installs in virtual machines. It's easy as fuck and if you have problems, delete the VM.

Multi-booting is only for two use cases. One is old hardware too weak to run VMs. The other is an OS needing direct hardware access.

Always DISCONNECT all other hard disks when installing any OS. Just do it. No downside and no problem. External drive? Unplug that motherfucker.

I've followed those rules since 1999, though VMs had to wait until I got better hardware. I put my drives in convenient swap racks (desktop PC is best PC, the more portable you get the more crippled you get in return for size reduction).

If you want to play with computers, get more hardware and LEAVE YOUR MAIN RIG MOSTLY UNFUCKED WITH. If you tell people you'll take all their used and broken PCs you'll have plenty of hardware quickly and you can shitcan what you don't want.

/g/ loves Thinkpads and so do I. Ultrabays make multiple drives and multi-booting (F12 to select on startup) absurdly convenient. BTW Ultrabase docks make Pad life better and they are dirt cheap on Ebay. They are especially useful for making your notebook/tablet a desktop at home, and like the rest of most Pad components work great with Linux.

Drive space is cheap so I do a Linux install on my storage drives. That means I can boot any of them on another PC to access the info if needed. Boot everyfucking thing. If you upgrade your PC, swap drives and press on. I don't reinstall for different computers.

Make your first concern reliability and your second convenience, then everything becomes convenient and reliable.

Have a collection of USB flash drives with live OS from Linux to WinPE-ish custom "distros" (FalconFour multiboot works well) and MS DaRT to rescue anything.
>>
>>56902791
Wrong. Use VMs. Not multiboot.

Stop replacing Windows when you don't know what you are doing. You will learn more from VMs and installing on other PCs or other drives.

When you NEED multi-boot you'll know it later.

I'm always paranoid as fuck and unplug everything but the drive I want to install to just in case.
