Why is Firefox so bad at releasing memory when tabs are closed unlike Chrome?

Single process + shitty fucking developers = memory fragmentation. If they go to Chrome's multiprocess bullshit it will just eat up all your fucking memory until shit starts crashing, so I'm sticking with it until then.
