hey
i wanna gut my 2011 macbook pro and build a small mini-ITX desktop.
so far, the only thing i've found that's compatible is the ASRock IMB-170-V, cuz the stupid macbook has an i7-2640M.
is there anything that I'm missing? I don't really have the money to do a real build, but i'm tired of this mac bullshit. i've got my ram, i've got my case, my power supply, my video card, i just don't have the new mobo.
wat do, /g/uise

Buy a barebones T420 and stick the 2640M in there.

99% chance that the cpu is soldered to the board because apple are kikes like that

Applel are kikes, but they don't name Intel's CPUs for them. M are generally not soldered. If it was it would likely have a U suffix.

You are giving apple a lot of credit here, I would be surprised if they weren't soldered

Well I take it back, it supports both FCBGA1023, PPGA988. So it very well could be soldered.

You're retarded buddy
If you're going to gut and lose portability you may as well sell it with the apple resale value bonus and start fresh. Christ.
Maybe even look into an eGPU since the MacBook has thunderbolt.
If you're doing it just for fun I guess
