I woke up and it smelled like a burned up circuit board and hopefuly it was not my pc but my ups suddenly starts beeping constantly at about 3 beeps per second and it wont stop. so i opened it up and what do i see? The board is charred and things have melted. Ofcourse i will send it to be repaired but what caused it to burn up like that? Im not really into tech and how it works so i hope you'll explain to me?

Either a change in current outside the components specs hit it and cause it to fry, or the part itself was just poorly made and didn't live up to its standards.

Just out of curiosity was it an APC ups? I had an APC that fried it's shit one month after warranty was up and fuck APC. it was not because of over voltage or anything as the symptoms (rapid beeping that would stop after being unplugged) occurred randomly and I thought it was the battery dying...but it wasn't.
