I have an tc4200, I was going to install 8.1 on it, I'm pretty sure it uses i915 so I would do well avoiding 8.1 on it. I have just bought a TX 2000 and definitely will be putting 8.1 on there.

I've tested 8.1 and 7 on multiple computers. 7 wastes less resources, comes with no bloat and generally runs faster, especially on older hardware. 8.1 is bloated 7. Vista is a shittier 7.
