Which do you /g/ents use?
I'm looking for a way to backup my code automatically off-site for personal projects (in case my PCs crash and burn). However, I'm weary about some of the automated process. Sometimes the various non-source files contain personal information that I may unknowingly upload. So at least with memebucket, I'm leaning towards them because of muh private repos.

just use Gitlab
Host your own
GitLab, it's easy as fuck to setup.

this
it's not even hard
buy a raspberry pi, or use a craptop

Don't use a pi, it's really slow. You do need a database, which requires ram, which the pie does not have. (No, swapping is not a valid option)

I want to get my stuff into "the cloud" so I can just pull it and go no matter where I am or what system I'm on. But I did consider that.

Looking into that now. And TFS too

So host a GitLab and open port 443 on your home router? Get a domain or dyndns so you don't have to remember your home IP. Profit.

I run into a host of issues. Flooding in my basement (where my servers and networking equipment is). Blackouts (which I can mitigate risk to hardware damage with a UPS but I haven't purchased one yet), and of course, the human element where people break into houses and steal things. I live in a third world country called New Jersey.
Plus I am not too confident in my abilities to harden whatever box I would run the server on, especially if it is open to the internet.
But thanks for the suggestions
Have you looked into beanstalk?

Hi,
There is a company that was part of penzoil. They have free backup software that works with External USB drives and it can be downloaded from Pen Island software

Gitlab.

gitgud.io
In case you wanted to use Gitlab, but didn't want to set up Gitlab on one of your own systems.

memebucket for private, memehub for public.
Github is like using Facebook instead of Google+. Everyone knows it's not as good, everyone knows the only exposure it's getting you is through Google, everyone knows the SJW behind it are anti meritocratic and only promote projects from women (even if they're hello worlds in ruby). No one cares.
No one cares because I'll sooner have a git repository in my resume/cover letter than what looks like a text dumping.
Until my projects are actually banned, which won't happen, my only peeve about github is that I'll probably never get more stars on my projects. Github will never help me more than the 50kb of space and a UI it gives me for my code.
