How would you describe an image viewer beyond the obvious?
What do you believe makes a good image viewer?
It is feature rich? Minimal? Customizable? What makes a good image viewer to you?
just show me the image I don't need a ui

Pretty. Viewer?

It already exists
Max zoom, fit to screen, arrow keys to flip through images in folder, slideshow with adjustable per second setting, rotate, import and export. Probably missing something, but basically what I require. I don't even give a shit about EXIF data, but some people will want that.

My ideal image viewer would let me select multiple folders, compressed or not, to page through its images in fullscreen mode.
And fucking rememeber my zoom preferences.
Sadly, the only image viewer that lets me select multiple compressed folders is ACDSee, and that has more bloat than a goose bred for foie gras

i have never looked at that icon up close, for some reason i thought the kid was crying or something

fun fact: most os x apps have a huge 1024x1024 icon in their Resources folder
A good image viewer for me would do the following things:
- zoom control (fit to window if large etc.)
- sorting options (by date, by type, by filesize etc.)
- Thumbnail>image>fullscreen mode
Arrow keys to switch between images
Fit to window in full screen mode
Able to quickly and easily sort images into different folders using hotkeys
Overall I like geeqie, but it's definitely not as good as irfanview.
