Hi people,
I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a Samsung KU6000 series TV for both using it as TV and monitor for movies/games/general browsing and whatnot.
I will use it as a second monitor since I'd use my old 23 FHD for the everyday and usual tasks and the TV will be used later on at a longer distance obviously. Think monitor is from desk and TV from the bed.
Would you advice this particular monitor? There's a rebate here for it I can grab that for a total of under 500€. Seems a good deal for a 49" 4K, but I want your opinion also. Thanks.

TVs are shit for monitors. especially primary monitors. only get it if you're blind or too stupid to notice obvious image quality deficits

Like i said, would secondary and TV since my 23" primary is too small from bed distances... Thanks for your input anyway.

aren't samsung tvs notorious for invading people's privacy? didn't samsung tell customers not to talk about sensitive information in front of the tv?

found it, here's a link

They're warning their customer about third party apps which are already getting everything they want from people's smartphones anyway. This isn't strictly condoning invading people's privacy.
dont listen to other anon, tv's make fine monitors
I've used a 39" 4k tv as a monitor (on my desk, ~ a meter away) and I wouldn't want one any larger than that on my desk, as if it were a normal monitor. It was just simply very large and you have to physically move your head around just to see the screen. I use a 60" tv as a living room computer monitor and it functions fine. Being a tv the black levels aren't great but it still looks fine when displaying images. its also 1080p but from a tv distance it looks fine
In getting this 4k to ne driven by new PC. Also to use as standard TV. Hope will work good with some games... I've got a xbone controller also to play something while on bed

(always OP here)
For other things the monitor I'm using is just fine. At about 1 1/2 feet I already move my head with just my 23".
On the bed I'd stay about 7-8 feet away and yet I'm limited in space, so I have to do with a 50" TV.
Since there's this offer, I wanted to grab this 4K. Heard that Samsung has good latency times, also is compatible with DVB-T2 HEVC that should be introduced in the following years here (euro).
At under 500 bucks I'm kinda drooling over it. But I wanted to ask /g consensus anyway.
I hope you have a bitchin pc if you intend to game in 4k. I have to turn my screen res down to 1080p if I want to fire up games, even really simple graphical games can really bog down in 4k
