Anyone who knows a bit about vintage record players. I purchased a zenith brand model X508 player and I'm having trouble finding the belt size to replace the current one. It's ripped and almost at the point of breaking. Any help would be appreciated (the picture is the player)

tried looking for cassette tape or vcr tape belts?

The thing is I don't know the dimensions that I need for it and I can't find them anywhere

Why not measure it

Belt drive players are shit. Save your pennies for a direct drive turntable

Good idea on the cassette tape belts. Lots of old machines around for free. Just gut one and if the belt is too big there is enough parts to make a tensioner. It's just a turntable... If the belt doesn't slip it's working.

why not just go a hobby toy shop, they have all kinds of belts.
Take a look at this and see if the dimensions are similar to yours

Also if the platter isn't 12 inches I wouldn't bother using it at all

Yeah and you have to do some research because some direct drive turntables are terrible with motor noise and such.

Why would you bother fixing it? It's a piece of shit and will never play anything properly.
