YOU FAGGOTS! I WANT AN ALTERNATIVE TO WINDOWS!

I don't want anything preinstalled. I also don't want any daemons or random shit running ether.

Infact is there even a goddamn distro of linux that let's you customize what software you want to install or do they all cram shitty Desktop Environments + shitty FOSS software bundled and glued together?

Only reason I adore windows 7 was the fact you could easily disable services you do not running, turn off internet explorer, windows media, etc

From my experience Loonix has 2 options.

A. Hard as fuck to install
B. Glued together shiny polished shite.

I haven't touched Arch in years. Last night I decided to see if they'd added an installer again or not. There is absolutely nothing difficult about Arch. It uses a CLI to give cancerous weebs the illusion that they're on a "hard" distro.

In reality there's nothing whatsoever stopping Arch having a 100% just werks GUI installer. I'm pretty sure there are Arch-based distros that have already done this.

If you really want true pain, try dual booting Gentoo.

thanks for nothing, /g/

all i wanted was a simple linux distribution...

i remember years back i downloaded Fedora 14-16? torrented the full 4 gig x86_64 iso, ran the gui-setup, gave me a fuck load of options in simple English -- with descriptions, also allowed me to choose specifically what software i wanted; what software i did not want installed, gave me the official repos and options for additional repos, allowed to specify which hardware specs i wanted -- as well as drivers, and finally gave me a fuck ton of options for window mans/DE!

fuck you all!

You'd think it's
uninstall
, but it's actually
sudo apt remove xyz
>>
>>56554284
thanks man does this remove all the dependencies, or libraries as well? i am actually more comfituble with gui i was hoping for a revo uninstaller like program for linux
>>
>>56554432
It removes the program executables and the dependencies that aren't used by any other programs.

As far as cleaners, I use fslint and bleachbit (
sudo apt install fslint bleachbit
), though those are more like CCleaner than Revo. The package manager/Synaptic does a good job of uninstalling what you tell it to.

Arch and Gentoo are for if you already know what you are doing and how to do it. At that point, it isn't much effort at all.

You don't use these distros to learn, you use them if you have learned.

Is there something like this for gentoo?
>>

I did. Best meme I've fallen for.

You can also use Ubuntu or Debian if you already know what you're doing and how to do it.
>>
>>56554621
nope, i know what im doing and holy shit ubuntu are fucking dumb with their updates every fucking week

plus, for some reason my isp blocks some ubuntu security repos.

never been happier then when i installed fedora and saw it used gnome by default. literally love at first sight my dudes

fight me
>>
>>56554432
It does not remove dependencies, but apt is still tracking them.

You can use
sudo apt-get autoremove
to remove dependency packages your system no longer needs.

You can also use purge instead of remove when uninstalling to also remove all config files left behind by the package. This also works after uninstalling the package to clean up later.
>>
>>56554432
use synaptic
type name of program in
right click remove completely
or terminal via what anon posted

oh boy i cant wait till you wanna use a program but your dependencies are newer then the program requires

it is quite difficult if you've never used linux before, took me most of a day when I decided to install it so that my friend would stop teasing me for not using linux
anyway the teasing stopped so it was worth it even if it took a while, you just have to have patience and read the manual OP
