What is the point of LFS and Gentoo?
If you don't want your distro to configure stuff for you then use Arch.
> When you install a regular distribution, you often end up installing a lot of programs that you would probably never use. They're just sitting there taking up (precious) disk space. It's not hard to get an LFS system installed under 100 MB.
what century are these niggas living in? gbs cost pennies now
USE flags for Gentoo and LFS... probably just for the sake of creating everything from scratch.

You really can't understand why someone may want to do this out of interest or for applications where they might want to use a soldered on module instead of a peripheral drive?
Try to build LFS in a VM some time. It is actually pretty fun and you will learn a lot. Gentoo is for a very specific niche of people but is not at all difficult to install, especially if you stick with OpenRC. They are certainly not the same thing

LFS? No point, just masturbation in knowing you put together your own distribution.
Gentoo? USE flags and an actually manageable and customizable system without having to use crap you don't need. Also optimization for the processor in use.
