When it comes to RX 480 is 8 GB _reference_ model is engineered better in mind of how it should work well rather than those brands like assus, msi memes and sapphire, which seem to have different pcb, different output configuration than reference models.
Are not reference models superior in aspect of PCB design? (Putting thermal, noise issues aside.)
Like assus usually fucks stuff up, isn't "real" amd the one to trust best?
Which RX 480 should one go?
Somewhat looking at gigabyte amd reference, 8 GB which is currently out of stock. Any ideas?
PS: Just in case, niggervidia shills, fuck off!
the reference board is good, amd didn't cheap out. what you're going to miss though is the 8pin instead of 6pin power connector the aftermarket cards have. generally aftermarket boards are better, especially from name brands.
the MSI or powercolor's red devil aftermarket are quiet and powerful.
sapphire is also nice, but it's kind of on the loud side.

sounds right, thanks!
Reference cards are shit because the coolers are inefficient and very noisy.
Running an MSI Gaming X at 1400Mhz on air. Very quiet and cool under full load. Probably not as good as a GTX 1060 in terms of power and heat when overclocked. But I got mine cheaper than the Gaming X version on green team so not complaining.

Actually, nvidia reddit's mad as fuck that the 480 keeps outperforming the 1060 and 1070 in dx12/vulkan
also notice the gpu threads have shriveled up and died overnight - nvidia stopped paying for them to shill tech sites. (for the time being - it'll likely pick up again during vega's launch)
Call me when a consumer card has FP64 performance to best a fucking 280x.

Out preforming a 1070
Kek
The 1060 I believe, but the 1070 matches the 980ti and old titanX
A low end 480 isn't matching a 1070

Whether it's 6 or 8 pin it doesn't matter, both output the a
Same amount of power. The only thing that the 8 pin gives is extra 2 grounds allowing less resistance in the circuit
OP, have you ever had a blower style cooler? To me they're so fucking loud they're not worth it, just save a little more and get an open design, you won't regret it.

in dx 12 and vulkan it does
