>there are still people who resist wireless headphones

I thought /g/ was full of audiophiles? Why are you retards so obsessed with older, obsolete technologies? Vinyl was killed by the CD for a reason, just like wireless audio is the future. Apple seems to be the only technology company still on their game.

tl;dr: why is /g/ so retarded?
>>
Because change is hard and /g/ has an undying hateboner for Apple.

Yeah, these would be a great way to zone out in class, since I'm immature and only care about instant gratification. One Airpod™ in one ear while streaming Apple Music™ tunes. Thanks, Apple!
>>
I could easily buy some $15 bluetooth headphones, but why should I? My wired headphones work fine, and there's no hassle with pairing, another pair of batteries that I have to charge, loss of signal, etc.

>not using FLAC natively on your mobile OS
>having to use iTunes to manage my library.

ohhhh boy
>>
it's another bullshit device to charge that's easier to damage and lose for fuck all gain

removing functionality and gimping devices for the reckless pursuit of some shallow and quite frankly ugly sense of aesthetics is the opposite of progress
>>
>>56488585
>Vinyl was killed by the CD for a reason
Yeah and now it's making a comeback cause people are realizing it's god tier for some genres, just like shitty wireless headphones aren't going to beat out a setup with a multibit DAC and tube amp.
>>
>>56488759
>Yeah and now it's making a comeback cause people are realizing it's god tier for some genres

No, it's making a comeback because a generation of millennials raised on KaZaA and iTunes is nostalgic for an experience with physical media that they never had.

Vinyl always loses to CD in fidelity.
>>
>>56488737
You sound like my grandfather. Jesus Christ this board is full of grumpy old fucks
>>

Sheeple
Playing chess with a pigeon
Etc.

Only luddites would not want this.

These things are amazing
>>
>>56488804
>Vinyl always loses to CD in fidelity.
Yup, it's in the mastering and everyone fucks it up favor of volume.
>>
>>56488903
Most audiophile companiesjust haven't gotten on board yet. Good ~$75-100 pairs of wireless ear buds sound just as good as wired $50 pairs
>>
>>56488585
>I thought /g/ was full of audiophiles?
Um... bluetooth uses lossy compression. Not very good lossy compression either.
>>
>>56488978
Vinyl as a medium cannot reproduce as wide of a frequency range as CD.

Also the analog playback process with a stylus moving over grooves and tonearm vibrating inevitably leads to further distortion of sound.

It's just not very good compared to digital.
>>
>>56488585
They are heavier and easier to lose. AND with worse audio quality to boot. It will only be the future when it will be able to play lossless audio and when it will get its power from your phone, inductively or whatever.
>>
>>56489006
>Most audiophile companiesjust haven't gotten on board yet.
I wonder if it is because they actually try to make good performing products?
>>
>>56489006

100 is already double of 50 anon.
>>
>>56489034
>when it will be able to play lossless audio
Expect to see a proprietary cd-quality lossless codec similar to Sony's in the next year or so.
>>
>>56489034
>easier to lose
how many times do I have to read this on this board? Are any of you over 15? I get that people lose things, but if you're going to drop top dollar on some wireless earbuds how about taking care of them and not losing them? Sorry but it's such a dumb complaint that I'd expect to hear from my mom, not every poster on /g/
>>
>>56489006
>Good ~$75-100 pairs of wireless ear buds sound just as good as wired $50 pairs
Such as? I've yet to find a pair of wireless buds, headphones, etc. that sound as good as the Piston 3 which you can get for less than $20 let alone the MA750.
>>
>>56488585

yeah, cause that ishit will have the same sound fidelity as a pair of good sennheisers.

you dumb shit.
>>
>>56489062
>I get that people lose things, but if you're going to drop top dollar on some wireless earbuds how about taking care of them and not losing them?
Are you a paid apple shill trying to obfuscate a poor product by blaming the user? "You're holding it wrong" ring any bells?
>>
>>56488585
The same reason people in the business of running data centers and servers run Ethernet and Fiber Optic. Cables are faster and more stable.

>Apple seems to be the only technology company still on their game.

Apple chose bluetooth for their wireless earbuds. Welcome to the 90's, so innovative.
>>
>>56489055
Apple has had a lossless format for several years. It's even open source and likely supported by AirPods, since it's listed in the iPhone 7 tech specs for audio playback.
>>
>>56489055
It could be done even today using an adapter similar to those in wireless mice. Why nobody did this yet completely baffles me.
>>56489062
>jog in a park
>it falls off
>spend an hour searching grass for it
I had this happen even to my IEM tips, wireless headphones are way easier to lose.
>>
>>56489006

There is no such thing as a good pair of wireless ear buds. They are all shitty quality.
>>
>>56489092
The op pic aren't even made by apple and the topic is wireless headphones, not apple. You can't fall back on that lame defense for everything dum-dum
>>
>>56489062
>drop top dollar on some wireless earbuds
If you're over 15 with a working brain you wouldn't do this.
>>
>>56489101

Not only that, it's not even Bluetooth 5.0! LOL
>>
>>56489124
Enjoy living in the past grandpa, we'll see you later
>>
>>56488585
You really believe that audio transmitted wirelessly would sound better than ones through wire?
>>
>>56489112
>Apple has had a lossless format for several years.
When did ALAC become a wireless audio codec?
>>
>>56488585
Because signals pass better through solids than through gass. Fuck of with your gimmick shit
>>
>>56489117
>The op pic aren't even made by apple and the topic is wireless headphones, not apple.
Why does the OP's pic have to be made by Apple for you to be a paid Apple shill trying to refute an issue with tired, old Apple tactics?
>>
>>56488585
>moving from analog to digital for headphones

haha. Enjoy your DRM.

>This Apple Music/iTunes Media can only be played with APPROVED BEATS BY DR DRE STEVE JOBS EDITION WHITE ROSE GOLD AIRPODS

DCHP ALL OVER AGAIN

WHEN WILL YOU FAGS LEARN
>>
>>56489149

Yeah I mean look at all that audio bluetooth equipment that bands setup when they do concerts right?

LOL!
>>
>>56489151
Since AirPods use a custom form of Bluetooth, it's not a stretch to assume they've included ALAC support.
>>
>>56489149
It COULD sound better theoretically, but it doesn't because of Bluetooth.
>>56489175
It's a hell of a stretch unless they significantly bumped the data rate, that would no longer be called Bluetooth.
>>
>>56489175
Do you understand how AptX is different from ALAC or FLAC?
>>
>>56489196
Apple often pairs Bluetooth with Wi-Fi for features like Continuity, AirPlay, and AirDrop. They could do the same here.
>>
So what if i want to use some actually decent and higher end headphones while not losing bitrate over wireless? Steve didn't die for this.
>>
I am what you could consider an apple fanboy, and I hate the design of the new pods. Get rid of the headphone jack, that's fine. There are plenty of Bluetooth headphones out there and the technology has grown so much. If anything, I'm extremely disappointed that Apple simply took such a bad design and decided it's what people want. They could have found ways to push Bluetooth even further. Develop it so that it's no longer a joke in the audiophile world. But no. We get these little white earrings that many people will lose. It's a bad design, and apple could have done better. I used to think that Tim Cook was just in a bit of a slump and that his direction just needed some time to work. Now I'm more than convinced that unless something really amazing doesn't happen with Apple sometime in the next few years, the company will be in trouble.
>>
>>56489112
>Apple has had a lossless format for several years. It's even open source and likely supported by AirPods
Nope. Bluetooth mandates one of two, lossy built-in codecs. It doesn't have the bandwidth for ALAC, nor do bluetooth chipsets have the CPU power.
>>
I'll just wait till the iPhone 8 when they get rid of that cumbersome screen that's taking up so much space, don't worry, there will be an adapter for you dinosaurs #courage
>>
>>56489175
lol, so now you have see what types of files your fucking headphones support.
>>
>>56488585
Why is Apple making wireless earbuds of all things? Earbuds are a terrible choice. They're only useful for mobile use and in just about every mobile environment you have background noise. Earbuds don't provide any noise isolation. The only environment that earbuds won't be affected by noise is in every situation where fullsized headphones make more sense.

Who is making these idiotic decisions at Apple?
>>
I don't understand the hate against wireless headphones. I have a pair of plantronics backbeat fit and it's fucking revolutionary.

I wear them everywhere because I fucking love audiobooks. These things have been through mud, rain, under hundreds of floors and through hundreds of roof spaces with me and I haven't even come close to losing them because I'm not a mongoloid.

Sure they probably don't sound as good as a proper setup, but hey guess what faggots? You aren't taking your fucking tube and DAC setup around with you.

All you have to do is plug them in at night and any decent pair of headphones will go pretty much the whole day.

Although fuck apples bullshit, at least have them joined together, the battery life on those are going to suck balls.
>>
>>56489769
>Although fuck apples bullshit, at least have them joined together, the battery life on those are going to suck balls.
Last five hours and charge while in the case which holds 24 hours of charge
sorry, that doesn't suck balls in the slightest. It's actually quite good.
>>
>>56489769
>I fucking love audiobooks.
You have very, very low standards.

>Sure they probably don't sound as good as a proper setup
Or even a cheap setup like rockboxed Sansa Clip & Piston 3. Hell, you can get just as good a sound and a lot more battery with a $20 bluetooth adapter and a decent IEM than these earbuds.
>>
>>56489783
>5 hours
>Implying

Top fucking kek, that will be at lowest volume right next to the phone. Also charging cases, wow it's fucking nothing, just a different shaped battery pack.
>>
>>56489802
>Also charging cases, wow it's fucking nothing, just a different shaped battery pack.
Actually it is something. More proprietary ports if that cannot be replaced with a generic powerbank, it's shit.
>>
apple customers are so used to eating shit, they dont know what fresh air smells like.

how do you retards continually pay for this crap?

>$100 stylus

this is the sheep you are.
>>
>>56489802
Even if it's more like 3 or 4 hours that's plenty before you case them and let them charge in your pocket. And it's an unobtrusive charging case that gives people additional loss prevention, but you're one of those people that will literally bitch about everything a company does aren't you?
>>
>>56488585
niggers should i buy the w800bt from onkyo?
also
THE GAME
>>
>>56489823
3 to 4 hours is a fucking joke faggot. 6 hours is a MINIMUM acceptable level. Also have fun losing your proprietary case and needing to take a second mortgage out to buy a new one rather than a 20 dollar power bank.

Can't believe people defend apples garbage products.
>>
Are there people out there who have a fetish for bluetooth pairing? like instead of fucking the family dog or getting fisted they just really really like error messages and digging through menus every time they want to listen to music? Do they crave lost connections every time they go to a crowded space and constantly tending to a battery?

If everything was bluetooth and you invented a pair of wired headphones that could plug into any device, you'd sell millions overnight.
>>
Why they don't put a fucking cord between left and right?
>Less chances to lost the fucking headphones.
>1 fucking battery, 1 fucking receiver, 1 fucking dac.
Why apple is so retarded?
>>
This is worth the price alone
>>
>>56489851
If you listen for five hours and can't take a 15 minute break you have fucking issues and a shit life, kid. Also "have fun losing x" is such a retarded argument. Act like an adult and take care of your shit.
>>
So some cutie asks what you're listening to and its the same fag indie shit she loves! "Have you heard the latest fagindie album?" She holds up her phone so you can plug your headphones in.

You explain that you need to pair them with bluetooth

You get maced.

Not the same anon but I regularly commute to Washington DC from my northwest state. Including time lost in the terminal five hours (morel likely three) I'll be recharging the earbuds right about the time the colic baby seated behind me starts crying because he needs a change.

Not that it would make much of a difference anyways because the earbuds wouldn't block out the crying in the first place. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make wired earbuds as the launch product?
>>
Can't wait for the sheeple to bitch that the Bluetooth isn't connecting in a crowded Starbucks

then they're clearly not for you so don't buy them. Problem solved, doesn't make them a bad product, most people don't have a five hour commute

>>

>>
They should just put a cord on the wireless headphones so you dont lose them....
>>
>>56488585
/g/ does overall not want a technology change for the worse.

Bluetooth is already supported on all fucking phones, and that part is fine.

But guess what, people didn't want to switch to Bluetooth shit for so many reasons (cost, battery life and battery recharging on both IEM and phones, IEM weight, IEM / headphone choices, ...) and the majority wants to use cables.
>>
>>56490137
>idiotic arguments over anything Apple does
Let's make this plain. You honestly do not think having open earbuds was not a poor design decision? I mean where did they test the product out? In Starbucks? Did they even run the idea or prototypes past any focus groups? You honestly think it is an "idiotic argument" to point out how choosing an open earbud design over closed IEMs is not just wrong but fucking retarded for a mobile audio product?

It is unbelievable that we are currently living in the present time, and yet this is still somehow an issue. How hard is it for these people to get along with modernity, really? Honestly, I feel that this is an absolute outrage! We are not living in the past any more! Some people think that they can still cling on to the primitive ideas and arguments that were popular last century, despite the fact that we are now living in the present, and you cannot deny that! I mean, COME ON! It is the current year right now, for crying out loud! The concepts of today's civilized society, as opposed to the primitive ideas of cave-dwellers, are simply beyond some people! Good grief!

It simply does not matter how much you whine and cry, or how hard you try to deny it: The present is now, and we are living in it. Welcome to reality. The middle ages are over, people! You can believe otherwise if you want to, but the truth is plain for all to see. It is the current year right now, and that is all the proof I will ever need.

>>
>>56490478
>Double tapping is superior to single tapping
Move a lot of goalposts in your shilling? The point was "innovation" and now you are arguing it is "superior?" A rather poor argument as you are arguing about not the difference in tapping but the use of a button or not.
