How's the internship hustle going, CS students?
>tfw 3.8 GPA and no personal projects because I'd rather play music and party in my free time
>tfw wasting time on school

If there are internships on campus you absolutely take them because
a) they're often paid (I'm paid)
b) you work F/T with grad student researchers, and they teach you their vast knowledge.
Spent 3 years building experimental, non-volatile memory DBMS on an Intel, graph memory prototype that's coming out 2017. We also built simulated CPUs with 1000 cores running in parallel to estimate the txn throuput of locking 900 threads at once and they put my name on 3 peer reviewed papers, one of which led to a flood of offers in my third year. I already have accepted a senior research contract with BigTechCorp and haven't even graduated yet (I'm just an undergrad!).
You're a fool for sitting around.

I researched my freshman year summer, I got cucked and learned no skills valuable to employers. Valuable to researchers, yes, but not employers.
