What's /g/'s opinion on ccleaner? How reliable is the wipe drive option?
wipe the drive and tell us if it worked
the driver cleaner works fine, you have to be retarded to not write a functional drive cleaner.
literally loop through the drive and do a write operation.
people who tell you that you need to write over a drive 50x because of the NSA should be ignored

Sorry I'm retarded when it comes to /tech/ stuff. Can you explain in simpler terms?
>>56487276
There's nothing wrong with the drive cleaner. All of them are basically the same thing.
>>56489215
There's was some shit about them being in bed with the NSA so it doesn't really clean it.
>1 pass
Might as well do a normal format. Just as effective. Do at least 3.
>>56489254
I did a free space wipe and did 3 like you said. Is the drive supposed turn red and start emptying like that? It seems I'm losing space? Does it return to normal after the wipe is complete? It's taking forever.
>>56489254
has there ever been documented cases of someone retrieving data from a one pass cleaned drive? I'm pretty sure it's only theoretically possible and impractical. Even the government standard was lowered for drive passes
>>56489498
It's normal, the drive is filled up with random data, to write over older one, next time use Dban though, it's simpler and has more functions

Ah I see.
