botnet means outsiders controlling your computer and thousands of others, usually to commit ddos attacks.

botnet /= tracking, tracking is everywhere now, its in your hardware, its in the network devices, your OS level tracking is a piss in the ocean.

Microsoft definitely has control over my PC with W10 so it might as well be a botnet.

Unless you go out of your way to disable some services and/or block things with the firewall you will find that MS regularly installs third party apps for you to try out. If they can do that then they can do anything.
