Good morning, /g/
I want to build an old pc for nostalgia, i wondered, how are those desktop pc's, square and laid down on the side called? the ones that used to have a monitor on top of them.
Also is this screen good?
Thanks

desktops
the ones that stand vertical are called towers

That actually makes sense, thanks, will look for a desktop pc even thought i'm never gonna find one like that
>>56466796
-- and yea, that won't help you find them
towers came later, and people were already used to calling everything desktops, so now towers are usually called desktops as well

Yeah all i can find are towers, Is there any specific good and old model of desktop pc i could look for?

plenty
here's a few

You can't even use the power switch with a modern PSU

I always heard them called "workstations" desktop workstations.

sure you can, just not directly or in an intended manner
probably the best way is to hook it up in-line with the ATX green wire, then disable ACPI in your OS so it won't attempt to soft-power-off

workstations can be of either chassis type, they just refer to work/business oriented machines (based on what kind of hardware/software it came with)

Usually with workstation it comes up with laptops with the docking station
