Alright /g/ bit of a noob here so don't kill me. I have a HP P7-1235 Specs Below
3.2 GHz AMD A8-5500 Processor
8 GB SDRAM RAM,Maximum Memory Supported: 32GB
1020GB 7200rpm hard drive
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
8 GB SDRAM RAM
I am wanting to upgrade the GPU until i can afford to start a new build. I understand the unit only comes with a 300w PSU and will need to be upgraded, I am not looking to run games at high details just to run them a little smoother at medium-Low. Previously recommended is the AMD HD 7850 but not sure on which version he was talking about,

Nope.

I know my processor is shit teir and i will be using an i5 6600k for my build but this CPU needs to do for another couple months. I do not play very graphic intensive games on this build.
MUH GAYMEN

I have that CPU in my current build. You can just get a better Intel for the price.

Pic related is my current rig, it was a pre built that I modded and I'm using it until I buy my new setup.
I don't know if the 7850K is even compatible with your motherboard.
While it's a fairly decent upgrade over the A8-5500, you have to keep in mind that the 5500 was a Trinity APU, running on FM2 socket with the 7850K being Kaveri on FM2+.
Regardless, I'd advise against upgrading this build. You'd be throwing away money for not THAT much of an upgrade.
Aaand I just realized I have shit eyesight and you want to upgrade the GPU, not CPU so everything I typed is irrelevant.
Now the question is, what kind of a build will you be putting together in a few months? A thing that might make sense is just buying the GPU you'd use later and bottlenecks be damned. But your current PSU might be a little weak for that depending on your choices. Especially seeing how PSUs in prebuilt machines are usually turds.

It will be bottlenecking like crazy

>SDRAM
it's been a long time since that was a thing
