I have been rejected by a university for CS for the second time in a row. I exceed all the requirements and often hear the degree is unnecessary - so I'm going to study my ass off for a couple years as if I was accepted and make it happen... Am I delusional /g/? I humbly defer to your Based Holy judgment.
if you are over qualified why don't you just go get a job in the field?
Where the fuck are you applying, MIT?

>I exceed all the requirements
Whatever you say, you fucking code monkey.

I have a job in front-end development and implementation but I want to do more out of interest and desire for increased salary. I guess I'll just work harder and put out more python and go projects in github, but I guess I'm asking if anyone else has had this experience and conquered it - maybe some sage advice for going rogue or recommendations.

why were you rejected?
Studying by yourself is a lot harder and won't give you everything studying with peers will give you.
But by yourself, you can learn programming, you can learn math and you can learn the algorithms and then you know how to make more.
If you are in the US, it might be cheaper to do this and then take a bootcamp and then go for a job.
But you should have been less picky about the college you went into.
rejected by what university? it's pretty much impossible to not be accepted by something like a state university assuming you're in the us
program requirements are usually bare minimums, any competitive program will have far higher reqs to actually get in
ie: my kid brother's gen science program has like a 70% min avg in a bunch of classes to get in, but he needed over 90% to have a chance.

if it's a non-competitive program then idk what the fuck you're doing to get rejected

I think OP should find an unpaid internship to work for someone who knows what they are doing
