Is there any impact on GPU if fanspeed is set to low so it works at 70-80 degrees (C)? Is the lifetime shortened or anything?
picrelated, i have amd gpu that has only 40% fanspeed no matter the temperatures and it keeps forgetting my afterburner settings (temperature=fanspeed%)

You know you can just set the fan speed using amd's own software right?
Tho you might have already broken it by using the third party msi's afterburner and it probably won't ever respond to anything ever again.
Not OP but the current driver doesn't allow me to adjust fan speed on my main rx470, watman isn't changing or recording fan rpm properly. Afterburnes fan slider is stuck, and no fan profile options. The default settings seem ok but I like being in control.

MSI* rx470, damn mobile

the reason i installed MSI is because its own controller didnt work at all.

70-80 degrees is normal for a GPU under load and will cause no problems.
If it's 70-80 at idle though, that's bad.
Who the fuck cares about shortened lifespan of components? You're going to replace it before it dies anyway so might as well get the most performance possible out of it.

RMA it idiot
