Is m2 not worth it from a user experience standpoint?
For gaming at least.

With my 850 evo, i load in before anyone else on csgo but that's useless since game doesn't start until everyone loads in
m2 is not worth it for gaming

Only if the M.2 SSD you buy is NVMe.
SATA based M.2 drives aren't an improvement at all over standard SATA drives, unless you just want something compact for a uATX case or something.
NVMe drives are 3-4x faster than SATA, and are about twice the price right now, so do your own math.

The Samsung 950 Pro is NVMe. As you can see in the test OP linked, for real world stuff it makes makes no difference.
for gaming it's probably not worth the increased price over SSDs.

It's not file transfer speeds that make the game load faster, it's the access times.

Only worth it if you copy large files all the time and need that 4x speed of sata6 ,or if you do MYSQL or other server/specific stuff that need the high I/O
In day to day usage, you wont notice any difference from a 950pro m.2 or a 850pro sata6 as an example

>for real world stuff it makes makes no difference
You mean for loading games.
There are plenty of real world applications outside of loading games where it makes a huge difference.
