Price/storage space aside, are there any disadvantages to using ONLY an SSD in your PC? I have a 1TB HDD right now that I'm pretty sure is failing (yes, I have made backups) and I don't even use half of it, I'm confident I could get away with just a 500GB SSD.
nothing wrong with that.
If you don't need the price:GB as much, go hard.

Unless you have 200GB worth of steam games like me, it's plenty
Ssd's have a huge failure rate, so have fun losing all your stuff

Lack of storage space and ability to write industrial amounts of data are the only downsides.

I'm still using Crucial SSDs I bought in 2012 and SMART hasn't reported any errors yet
HDD dying
>CLACK CLACK
>Windows warning
SSD dying
>IT JUST DIES
Here is my setup
>256gb OS m.2 ssd
>4tb hard drive
>two hard drives for backups
The backup strategy backs up an OS image and selected files from the 4tb drive. Specifically I don't back up the movies and TV shows because they take too much space and are easy to get. I do keep a list of what it there though.

I have had several HDDs die without any warning.
Meanwhile my SSD still works like on day 1.
