If you want a new GPU, buy one unless you know for sure that a new release is a few months away or something

If you want to wait six months for a new generation/Ti you will never buy anything

I'm in the same boat.
I know the 10 series don't do Async, so I don't know if I should just get a 1060 now and wait until nvidia releases a new gpu capable of async to get their flagship model or get a 1070 now.

The 1070 is complete overkill for 1080p 60hz gaming.

If you don't plan on getting a 144 hz or 4k monitor in the next 2-3 years, there's really no point at all for spending the money on a 1070.
