Why do I see so many threads bitching about Floenns not updating

I've never had an issue with clover and /g/ loves to circle jerk over free open source software even though most people on here wouldn't know the first thing about fixing/implementing changes. Every time i see someone in here complain about a lacking feature i chuckle.

Despite floens' long-time popularity with the "technical" crowd on /g/ and a lot of complaints, he's received minimal contributions/support for his project. Just look at his github. Maybe it's because Android is a garbage Java nightmare, but on the other hand, most people who have taken a CS class or two should already be familiar with it. Contribution couldn't be too hard, right?

As much as /g/ has turned FOSS into a meme, few people on /g/ care enough to contribute their own time and skills to support it. /g/ doesn't care about the virtues of openness, ownership, or sharing; what /g/ really cares about is frugality and riceability. Those are the traits which best perpetuate the meme.

I wonder if Floens regrets open sourcing Clover. He could probably make some decent lunch money if he closed it and added a price tag.
