Looking for a decent laptop that I can use for college with taking notes, programming, video editing and can handle modern games at 1920x1080 at medium or higher (although that isn't a dealbreaker). So far I've narrowed it down to these two laptops, thinking I'm leaning towards the 1 TB one because of space, but I'm open to suggestions as my budget is $800 or less and I want to use it for a couple of years.

You are not going to do any of the three former activities if you seriously considered something for "gayming". Fuck off.

There's a reason I'm not looking at laptops that have the word "gaming" in them. It's not a a huge priority but it's nice to have since I'm using it for school and for fun.
Thanks for the input

Dell XPS 13. You don't want the aspire, it's too big to comfortably carry around.
i still like my y50, just delete all the lenovo bloatware
buy a low end netbook or tablet pc hybrid and build a 500-600$ desktop
best of both worlds with no compromises associated with laptops that are trying to be everything at once.
Dont bother with an i7, get something with an i5 and good build quality.
Latest integrated graphics will not play current gen games, they will play last gen games quite well though

>whats with this guy recommended dell
>lots of guys on /g/ like dell
>so why is the guy on /g/ recommending dell

acer is crap, it barely exceeds toshiba in build quality
i recommend:

or
https://www.amazon.com/K501UW-AB78-15-6-inch-Full-HD-Gaming-Glacier/dp/B01DT49XN8/
keep in mind though that the gaming experience on any laptop will be extremely bad. only the proper "gaming" laptops that are as thick and heavy as a suspension bridge can really match desktops in performance and they cost far too much. any normal laptop will overheat, throttle, and just perform poorly, dedicated graphics or not.

yes, but lots of people have been specifically talking about the XPS 13 lately, and dell products which aren't for business or aren't displays are shit
