He requests Pepsi or tea regularly as part of his accommodations for speaking, preferring Pepsi if he is feeling particularly sleepy, and otherwise preferring to just drink tea, because he doesn't want to drink as much sugar.

In the image you provided, he is drinking Pepsi, not Coca Cola, which suggests that he probably was low on energy at that particular time and needed the sugar and caffeine provided by it.
