Should I sell my 390 for a RX480?
Would I get any other benefits aside from no more housefire?

if you're lucky enough to sell it for about $200 i don't see why not. otherwise no.
it handles some games like TW3 better than the 390, and iirc a few games a little worse. but other than that they're neck and neck and it's really just a sidegrade option.

Fellow 390 owner. At the rate things are going we are better of just waiting until next year for the 14nm FinFet to mature and for some sweet sweet HBM 2.0/GDDR6

You fell in the OP bait. The 390 is better than the rx480...
Why? It's not that hot. I will upgrade 2020.
>>56399008
The 390 is actually faster than the 480
If you want less heat, get a 1060, it's way more efficient than even the 480

It's not the heat of the chip itself, but the heat it puts off into your case and room.
The 390 uses as huge amount of power, and power = heat output
I wanna trade my 29} for one so i can have 8gb vram

wait for RX490, that way you'll actually be upgrading

>RX490
AMD will not launch a ''RX 490''. The next GPU will be Vega (H1 2017)
>mfw still at R7 360
Don't need anything else really
jesus christ my case with a 390 in it is right beside my legs and I never feel a thing
then again I have central air unlike the rest of you pajeets it seems

For mine, the heat is there, but I have to go out of my way to really feel it.
