Hello /g/
I`m willing to install Gentoo on my SSD. From what I understand (please correct me If I`m wrong) Gentoo is used because it`s fast, customizable and becaue its learning process and the control the user has over the machine. The problem is that my programming knowledge is almost null: a bit of HTML, CSS, SQL and some Python.
Will I survive the installation? Is there something I must learn beforehand?
Thank you

You don't need any programming experience to be able to use Gentoo, if a bit preferable.

Thank you for the info. What do you think is the bast way to start to learn about Gentoo`s functioning?
Just read the manual. It's been years since I installed Gentoo so I don't remember how much it covers post-install (e.g. if you want a DE) but you can always use the Arch wiki for that.
I am actually installing it as we speak. It's been a few years since I last done that.
It is not an unpleasant experience, th some details in the manul are a lil bit confusing.

HTML, CSS, and SQL aren't programming languages, just fyi.
HTML = HyperText Markup Language
CSS = Cascading Style Sheet
SQL = Structured Query Language

Gentoo being fast is a meme. But it's customizable and has a god-tier package manager. And you do everything by yourself during the installation, so even though there is a stepwise guide, if you're a newb or just unfocused, you can and will fuck something up and will spend countless hours on forums looking for the source of your error. After that experience, though, you will know linux better.
