Okay /g/ents. Serious question. Are you able to install linux on a TI-84 Calculator? (Pic related)
>>56392314
No it only has 1MB flash and linux is like 10 at least
are you?
What about a TI-nspire cx CAS?
>>56392475
Could I upgrade the storage somehow?

Well mine is a silver edition but it has outdated ports on it so less likely a no

The TI-84 has the computational power of a 1980's microcomputer (like a C64 or the ZX Spectrum). It has an 8-bit Z80 processor clocked at 15 MHz, 128K of RAM and 1MB of storage. You ain't running jack on that.
However, a more powerful system like >>56392586 can totally run Linux. See https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTM0MzE

easy to get unix running on something like that
>>56393479
What are you trying to do
>>56393479
Yea you could put a flash drive in the link port probably.

There is "Linux" for those, but it is just called that, no affiliation.
If you want more use of the calculator install doors cs (A custom shell) and mimas (an on board z80 ASM IDE.

check out cemetech.net too. They have a lot of interesting stuff.
You can also overclock the z80 on it, there is a tread on cemetech about it.
no but you can use it as a terminal, and even use ttyspy connected to your shit pentium-3 so you can use a real keyboard

>overclocking your TI-84
Will this help me solve my math problems better?
ultimate jewery are scientific/graphing/engineering calculators. smartphones can easily do the same shit better.
>>56395944
go ahead and ask a professor to use a smartphone on a test
go ahead and make graphs on your smartphone without wolfram alpha
>>56395923
heh.
But it does have it uses, the Wolfienstien made for ti-calcs runs a lot better, as does tetris and plenty of other games. Graphs will also run faster as will large equations.
