No one forces you to buy cable, contary to popular belief the cable companies actually charge excessive fees to carry networks. The stipend from subscription costs does not cover this alone.

However some channels do take advantage of people in this way, do not bother giving them views or cancel cable.

Do you think your isp is responsible for putting content on the internet? No some person is running that website you criticize and they need money too.

You can block the ads, but really that is a form of fraud, just don't give them views.

I thought the adverts in windows 10 were only in the free version which was given away by microsoft anyway. A few ads is far cheaper than a valid microsoft license.

Anyway you could use linux or apple or bsd if it bothered you so much.

The answer is to fight back. In the 80s when Back to the Future 2 was packed full of adverts people walked out of the theatre.

We need to do that today as consumers.
