Find your own patches, amazon and ebay are reliable resources.
There are a lot of websites that will custom print patches for you, but doing this can be a long process.

Right now all I have is an inkjet printer and I don't want to shell out for sticker paper.
Can I just print on regular paper, cover the sticker portion in clear packing tape, and cut it out?
What would make a nice adhesive for printer paper to a plastic laptop?
Elmers glue stick?
I want it to stick but not be impossible to get off should I change my mind about the sticker or it fades and needs to be replaced etc.
I plan on using an xacto to cut it out as well since it's more precise than stickers, but my gut says regular printer paper will just wrinkle as I cut instead of holding firm.
Perhaps I should try printing on index cards or something?

Give it a shot. You won't be wasting much other than your time trying. As for the adhesive, maybe an aerosol spray adhesive.

That's true but ink is expensive so I was just trying to get a little advice to start me off.
