which laptop has best bang for buck performance?
Just need it for coding and some post processing of photos.
In saying this, which laptop can I find cheap that has a decent panel and CPU with dual RAM capabilities? -

some of the newest thinkpads have soldered ram
get a used dell precision, or a used w series thinkpad
i would recommend either m4800 or w530
if you don't need super hardcore processing but are more focused on just the panel, get t430 or t530. you can swap panels yourself and they support 1366x768, 1600x900, and full 1080p if you buy the HD video cable and DIY it
