Hi /g/ im looking for a proper gaming monitor. I've been looking at BenQ xl240t 144Hz however, i just cant help but wonder, am i paying overprice for branded shit, is there actually an alternative that is cheaper or maybe even better for the price range of 300-450 dollars?

144hz is essentially a gaming gimmick since it is useless in a professional workplace. So most of the monitors are going to be overpriced gamer shit with no alternative, other than korean monitors. Korean/japanese monitors are cheap but offer no warranty and can come with dead pixels or backlight bleed.
Look up 'korean monitors gaming' there is a list somewhere of the best ones to get. Might be more info on leddit also.

144hz is not a gaming gimmick. I can't even use non 120hz + monitors anymore for daily computer use. Esp with the new ips 1440p 144hz monitors, I can't go back.

Dell s2716dg refurb if you've got nvidia
Acer xg270hu if you've got amd, maybe an mg279q refurb if its cheap enough
