If you buy a keyboard with any more features than this one, then just be upfront and admit you only bought it because you think it makes you a cool "professional gamer".

Fucking kek. I bought a Strafe RGB because I like the RGB LEDs. I hardly game anyway.

Overall happy with my Anne Pro. Not bad for a $70 bluetooth mech.

Anyone knows EU stores that send stuff internationally? Preferably german store. To be exact i need some sort of cheap 61 key keyboard for typing.

Btw, blue mx switches have actuation point after the "click"? Right now im using mx black and it's pretty hard to avoid typos because of that 2mm actuation point.

My cable came in.
>Aluminum plugs
>Charging LED that's perpetually green
>Braided sleeving, probably the least stiff braided sleeving I've encountered
It's a lot less awkward to take in and out compared to the stock cable because of the straight connection. Snaps in pretty solidly.

Is the NAOS any good? I've been thinking of getting one.
>>
Alright I fell for the meme, the CM Quickfire is in the mail. I regret it already.
>>
>>56351526
I use a palm grip with the Naos. I used to claw/fingertip grip my Deathadder 3.5G and I thought about getting the Avior instead since it looked like it would fit my grip style. Then RocketJumpNinja released his video on it and then I ordered a Naos 7000 instead.

Your fingers are forced into a set position but it's the most comfortable thing ever once you find your grip. It's kind of hard to pick up, not because of weight, but because of the coating. It's slippery until you start sweating, but the grip issue is fixable with vinyl electrical tape. Everything works out of the box including the DPI buttons, but software (wangblows only) is required for rebinds and changing the LEDs. It feels more solid than my Deathadder, which I thought was pretty solid already. All the clicks feel good. Scroll wheel has smoother steps than the Deathadder and it's a bit noisy.

>tldr: very solid, extremely comfortable mouse that's a bit hard to pick up.

Didn't get a response last thread so I'll post with a pretty picture this time.

The spacebar on my Poker II sometimes gets stuck down, only when the keycap is all the way on the stabilizers though, if it's only just on then it works fine. I've been considering replacing the stabilizers as a last ditch effort in case the new space bar I'm gonna order has the same problem. It seems that the Poker II has a custom made stabilizer wire though, without the bump in the middle or hook action from either side, so I don't know if it's gonna fit.

The spacebar I have on at the moment is a Granite PBT DSA with a slight curve in in, when I straightened it out the spacebar problem got infinitely worse, so I bent it back to a more usable angle, cracking the spacebar in the process. The fact that it got worse when I straightened the spacebar made me dubious as to whether replacing the spacebar is gonna fix anything at all.

How can a company make software this fucking bad? Even fucking Razer just lets me plug in my keyboard and it works but not with Corsair, I have to sit here unplugging and replugging and soft resetting the dam thing every fucking morning because their shitty software is incapable of installing firmware correctly.

Any alternatives because I want to throw this dam thing out of the window.

https://www.massdrop.com/buy/blank-pbt-keycaps?mode=guest_open
Massdrop has been selling this NPKC set with an optional ISO kit for a decent price the last two or three times it dropped.

http://www.ukkeycaps.co.uk/product/gateron-thick-pbt-blank-keycaps-iso-ansi
UK-Keycaps will probably restock these eventually. Funny thing is that he buys full ANSI sets, harvests every 8th set to get a small shift and extra 1u keys and adds an ISO enter bought separately.

More and more PBT manufacturers are acquiring the molds necessary for ISO. As an added bonus dye sublimation is really just a printing technique which means it's reasonably cheap to add more layouts. We might get ISO sets with high quality legends that won't fade and layout support for most of Europe.

This is the one I have here >>56352041
I got it from massdrop and it was delivered in a month or so after the drop ended, which is alright for living in E. Europe.
It was ~30 bucks with shipping, p. cheap, and the caps are nice quality.
But if you want to get them check if the spacebar fits before ordering lel

Southern europe, using an EN layout is not an issue
>Preferred switch type
Actuation force or linear/tactile does not bother me. Noise does, so blue switches are out of question. Have basic soldering skills, so I could swap switches down the road, assuming I'd find them for cheap (where could I get them btw? Ok with either cherry mx or clones)

Thanks as well. Meanwhile I found an ebay seller with packs of gaterons for sale, 30 something € per 120 pack seems good for a past time project. Maybe too good, but searched a bit and feedback on them seems to be legit
>>
>>56355199
Maybe you could buy a project board and just solder it together yourself. It'll cost you more than 80 euros total but you can buy switches now, board later, keycaps whenever, etc
In the end you'll have something perfectly tailored for your needs.
>>
>>56355293

I thought about it, but maybe I'd rather grab something that works out of the box, then tinker with when I feel like it. Hence why I don't mind going with cheaper chinese brands.

I'm a Mac user from Finland and want a mechanical keyboard. What are my options?

>Get a Macintosh Extended Keyboard
It would be the best option, but they're not for sale anywhere and they need an adapter. Sure, you can find the US layout version for 90001 dollars on ebay, but I specifically need the ÖÅÄ.

>Buy a generic mechanical keyboard

Literally every keyboard that uses a common, standard layout will have that, the only difference is that the super key is between control and alt rather than beside the spacebar.
>>

>the only difference is that the super key is between control and alt rather than beside the spacebar.

Hello there, frenchfag here (you'll see why it matters after the template)

>Budget
200€ max ( ~$220)
>Location
Europe, France.
>Preferred switch type
I'd prefer softer, more silent, not-so-clicky switch. If it exists
>Layout

>Form factor
60% > 65-75% > TKL
>Backlight
None is fine. Anything but RGB if there is.
>Previous/current keyboards
Cheap ass HP, and current is Logitech G110.

Basically, stuff like the FC750R posted before gives me a full-on boner.
But, like many others it probably isn't available in AZERTY. Which I would be fine with if QWERTY keyboards had letters I use because i'm a frenchfag (like é, è, à, ç ...)

Any idea ?

Is Cooler Master the first gaymin brand to do this sort of thing?
>>
>>56358108

I think so, ever other brand comes with cheap abs shit.
which model are you talking about? the current pro l, m and s are all with abs caps
>>
>>56358185
They're going to have a model in the future that's called just plain "MasterKeys" that'll come in full-size and TKL. No backlight.
>>
>>56358108
>>56358185
>>56358240
Certainly the first popular gaming brand to do that.

There's some other gaymen keyboard with (doubleshot I presume) PBT keycaps. Not sure if it was from maxkeyboards or some other place.

I'm imagining that the cooler master PBT keycaps will be laser etched.
>>
>>56356802
Why do you care about what's printed on keycaps? You can type in any layout on any keyboard.

Requiring french layout restricts you to pretty much only mainstream gayman keyboards.

Masterkey pro s has a french version.

You'll have more options if you stop looking at your keyboard when typing. Like pok3r, if you want 60%.
>>
>>56356802
you could get blank keycaps

I'll check later but maybe someone knows right now: does anyone know if step-sculpture low profile keycaps (like the ones that come with Varmilo or Leopold) are compatible with DSA profile keycaps? I want to put the remainder of my Hana set to use on my VA87.

The low profile keycaps look very similar to cherry's. It will probably look and feel very weird but it is possible to mix them
>>
>>56351859
The one I have uses red switches and has been satisfying to use; it also can be bought with black or blue switches I think. These are "Cherry equivalent" and I've heard from other people that they aren't quite as good as actual cherries but I haven't really found anything to complain about of them either.

>>
>>56358751
You're right, for whatever dumb reason I was thinking that a keyboard (out of all tech nowadays) wasn't something you could program.

So... I'd be fine with buying a QWERTY and changing the kaycaps and layout ? Noice.

Well, that kind of solves my problem.

That Pok3r looks dope by the way, I'll put that on my list.
>>
>>56356815
Thanks for the answer!
>>
>>56359746
i wouldn't recommend typing AZERTY on a QWERTY keyboard. and you can't just move the keycaps around because they have a staggered profile so they have to stay on the same row
>>
>>56358828
I guess I could, but I will definitely take a long ass time to adapt.

Blank keycaps look super nice though.

I'm not sure I understand properly, my english definitely needs some practice.

I'll explain my problem again:

Can I, with a QWERTY and ANSI or ISO layout keyboard (because way more choice as you tell me), be able to type letter like "è é ç è" ?

That's the only thing stopping me from munching on these sweet keyboards

>Pic related, I simply a key that goes "è" as I press it. Even if the keycap doesn't say "è"
>>
>>56360221
Yes in the windows settings you can specify what layout you are using. So even though the key doesn't say è it will type it anyway.
But you cant freely swap keys since they are shaped.

Good to know. Hana is my first experience with DSA profile keycaps so I'm already having to get used to my full set and I ended up using far fewer than I thought I would from the novelties, flextras and matcha kits, not to mention I ended up not using the pink f-row kit at all.

from feel alone i definitely know the keycap sets i currently have won't be compatible. the closest i can imagine are the front-printed step sculptures that came with my varmilo, which are in cold storage right now and i hate to imagine the same will happen to all the other unused hana keys i have.

I have an older model Razer Tournament Edition keyboard built with Cherry Blues.

On disassembly, it seems to basically be a Filco with a small XKRO sub-board that also doubles as a female mini-USB header. E.G. you can plug a standard mini-USB cable into it and into your computer.

Unfortunately the mini-USB port on the NKRO board has gradually worn out and finally broken. Repairing the keyboard to functional status is as simple as installing a standard Filco cable to the main board, and I'll probably also be able to repair the USB jack on the XKRO board in due course but... I was wondering.

Does anyone know of an XKRO PCB meant to connect in-line to a Filco board?

$80 on amazon, usually $140, is this a good deal for a decent kb? These use Kailh blues, I think. Are those so inferior to cherry mx switches that I should pass this one up?
>>
>>56367470
imo you should pass on it, at $80 i think you can get better switches like gateron or cherry (or maybe you need to hop up to $100, i'm not sure with this 104-key form factor, it might be a bit pricier than tenkeyless)

the "sale" is a trick, the keyboard is worth maybe $80 at most, the kailh switches bring the value down

The main thing I notice about it, is that the folded little metal bit in the switch has varied alot over the keys, meaning some of the keys click, some dont and they generally all feel a little bit different. I guess I could take the whole thing apart and reshape all of them, but for a keyboard I dont use it would be way too much effort. (dont really use it much due to the noise.)

I guess if you want something with the same feel you could look for a more modern ALPS based switch keyboard.

Keyboard layout doesn't have the pound sign so I used the shorthand term for the currency.

>Razor keyboards
Fuck man, it's the keyboard equivalent of telling me to step on a lego. Sorry if you got triggered by something so small.

I'm changing the connector in my Zalman keyboard so that I could connect it to Arduino instead of the original controller. However, I see 5 cables connected here instead of 4. These are labeled: VSS, G, V, D, C and I suppose the last 4 are actual USB pins. Any idea what VSS might be? Quick google said it's negative voltage, but what could it be used for when I already have +5V and GND?
>>
>>56375570
Okay, checked the pins with a multimeter and the mysterious pin is connected to the metal sheath of the plug.

personally I never buy direct from china after what happened to me last time, but if you want to give it a try then go ahead
>>
>>56376920
What happened?
I already did, and most likely wasted a month of my life..
>>
>>56377049
Well it was a cheap adapter that only cost 10 bucks. The estimated shipping time was a month which I didn't really care. However after 30 days I never received it so I asked them. They gave me a tracking number and it says that it was in transit with no estimated delivery time. I waited two week so I asked them again. They said it was lost it transit so I asked them to send another or give me a refund. After two months of nothing I just gave up and let them keep my 10 dollars. If it was a something more expensive like a keyboard I'm sure I would have done everything I can to get my money back, but why give myself a headache over 10 dollars

Are mx reds really that bad for regular typing?
I've ordered a key tester and I like the reds the most, but I do understand that it's not the same as typing on a proper full keyboard.
>>
>>56377763
you can use any switch for any task.it's just personal preference. i prefer blues for gaming and topre for typing.

>you can use them but i don't use them
>>
>>56377763
If you like them, then get a kb with them. I use reds for typing and gaming no problem. The reason people don't like reds for typing is that they are very light keys and don't have tactile feedback, which can result in typing errors or fatigue for prolonged use. But like I said I use them for just about everything without any issues.
>>
>>56377988
what's the problem? i don't have every switch available to hand. i was just stating my personal preference.
>>
>>56377789
>>56378079
Cool thanks, going for reds then.
>>
>>56377763
The only thing about reds that is bad for typing is that if they are too light for you, you'll end up making typos because of accidental presses. As long as you don't have that problem and you bottom out when typing anyway, reds are as good or better than other kinds of switches for typing. I myself have gateron blacks, which have actuation only 5g heavier than cherry reds, and they don't cause any issues for me.

Things that annoy me intensely:
* special snowflake colored key caps
* colors other than gray or black
* braided cords

I really wish they never marketed reds as gaymur switches, as I find them to be my preferred switch for typing.
Just do your best and DONT get a Corsair or Logitech, get a nice looking kb with reds for maximum comfy.

Stock (POM) keycaps on my choc mini are good enough that I'll probably keep using them forever, which was one of the reason I bought the board in the first place.

Danke. Keycaps are Round 5 SA sculpted from 7bit's groupbuy over at Deskthority. I purchased them around a month ago from another user on Deskthority.

All the chink switch brands have slight quality control issues, but Kaihl is the worst. Two keys on the same keyboard can feel and sound different and the molding is often sub-par.

They also make Razer's switches which means they deserve to die.

should I get a wired or plastic keycap puller

does it matter?

right now I just need one for cleaning my keyboard
>>
>>56379837
Wire, plastic ones (with a ring) can scratch caps.
>>
>>56378171
Whats wrong with white and grey color scheme.
My IBM model M has one and its made in 1988
>>
>>56379837
I use a paper clip shaped like a wire puller, though I don't know if that bad for the caps or not
>>
I actually kinda like keycaps with fonts that aren't standard. Some of them, anyway.

Maybe its just my desire for a change of scenery.
>>
>>56379844
Is there any difference between the 12€ and 2€ ones? Or is it all just kind of the same thing?
>>
>>56379969
Then buy a comic sans set and use it to trigger people
>>
>>56380025
That's a hilarious idea, but is there a place one can go to get specific font keycaps?
>>
>>56380015
It's just a bit of wire. You can make one out of a (thin) clothes hanger in a pinch.

You might get a sturdier handle with a 12€ puller, but I have a thin plastic one I got free nearly seven years ago and it's still just fine today.
>>
>>56372923
what caps are those?
>>
>>56380044
Well I recommend you just get a cheap pad printed set. So try here http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/keycap-set/104-key-cherry-mx-keycap-set.html
>>
>>56380078
I'll get the cheaper one then
thanks anon

>>56380044
on wasdkeyboards you can upload your own layout file which gives you 'full control of what is printed on the keys'

They have a tutorial somewhere on how to make such a file
