Hey /g/uys
I am currently a Computer Science student at a 300-450+ ranked university worldwide and I have the chance to transfer to a top 60 uni worldwide for their CS program.
However their program has "Applied" in front of the CS name. Would that fuck me over when searching for jobs?
In terms of course syllabus and difficulty the top school covers everything I would do in the 2nd, 3rd + MSc in my current uni in their second year alone.
Is it worth transferring to that school if that means I'm gonna have Applied in front of my degree?
Why the fuck do you think that "applied computer science" means anything? Do you honestly believe that there are colleges that teach only theoretical computer science and do not require students to apply those lessons and techniques into an application?

So... do you think I should transfer? I am well aware of how CS programs are structured.

I really don't understand why the qualifier of "applied" to your degree is going to affect your hiring manager in any way. Hiring managers who understand computer science will understand your background if they ask for your transcript. Hiring managers who don't know shouldn't care about the "applied" qualifier.
