Assuming it did have problems with one of the countless benefits it has over shitty microusb, do you think one of those problems is related to charging OR slower than USB 2.0 speeds? Galaxy S7/S7 edge still use microUSB. Don't count on the next gen to use it though...

Most of the problems with USB type C are shitty cables that aren't up to spec. If you buy from a reputable brand and make sure to read some reviews, you should be fine.

A whole slew of people destroyed their Nexus devices this year because of chinks not making their Type-C cables to spec and people thinking they can just buy a tiny-fraction-of-the-market cable for the same price as the over-saturated USB Micro cables on Amazon. This was a whole several month deal in the Google/Android space where some Google engineer bought nearly every cable on Amazon so he could verify if they were to spec or not.
