So rumor has it that qualcomm has no plans on releasing android graphics drivers for 800/801 series of snapdragons thus hindering devices that still have these chipsets from getting android N.
So what now? They're going lock out devices from newest android versions due to drivers not being released? 800/801 is still very capable SoC.

The encryption extensions missing from 800/801 and present in 805 seem more likely than graphics drivers. There will probably be ROMs for these devices, but OEMs can't release updates since they'd fail Google's certification tests.

Android 7(officially) requires OpenGL ES 3.1 and Vulcan support, either Qualcomm doesn't care or 800 physically doesn't support that. 805 and newer support both, thus Nexus 6 should get official N.
