Messenger is a cunt that refuses to work if even one permission is denied.
It's doesn't drain battery. Snapchat on Android drains battery like a motherfucker. Snapchat android quality video is also some 2005 tier 360p bullshit. Snapchat is probably the worst top popularity app on android by a long stretch it sucks ass.

I refuse to believe that it doesn't drain the battery...
I've never had it show up on the battery stats. Ymmv I guess, so just try it and uninstall if you have issues? Also buy an external battery and keep it in your bag or coat pocket, then never worry about running out of power again.
