Now that Aegis isn't updated anymore what's the best

I'm running a Win7 machine that last updated in June 2015.

Feels kinda scary and I wanna update, but then I don't want any of the telemetry and extra shit. What do?

Everything working perfectly is the reason I don't want to update. I'm just afraid of getting caught in a botnet or something because of some old-ass exploit.
