So out of boredom i finally did it. I tried a linux based system. And i kinda liked it
I got ubuntu and its fairly easy to use but the UI is kinda annoying for someone coming from windows and Ubuntu software center seems kinda... shitty. Don't know if thats normal.
I checked out linux mint and it seems closer to a windows interface than ubuntu. Is there any drawbacks in trying this distro?
As a Linux user, all you'll be doing is trying different distros.

Too true

Try kde then. Similar to windows, but more configurable. Kubuntu, OpenSuse, Mageia..
Don´t give any thought to the "coolness" of the distro of your choice. /g/ is filled with hipsters and fedora-tipping weabos trying to make themselves look cool with their terminals and shit. Install something and go with it. People´s opinions are like assholes, everyone have them.

Open up a terminal and type: sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
Then, restart your computer. At the login-screen, find session. Choose KDE and try it out. Tinker with it. Try different windowmanagers..

There isn't really any drawbacks to trying a distro. Just make a live USB and give it a spin.
Mouse wheel with your mouse over a non selected window. Then try going back to windows.

Windows 10 at least scrolls over unfocused windows.

Mint has a few issues. Long story short, https://lwn.net/Articles/676664/

I distro hopped for weeks when I first got started
Stay with Ubuntu, trust me on this. Anywhere out of Ubuntu country is badlands, including Debian.
