How hard is it to start a functional cam site and turn a profit? how to get users to migrate? seems strange there isn't much competition
Just costs a webcam and your dignity pal.
None of your actual problems will be tech related. They will all be payment processing and legal fee related given the nature of your business. This comes up on /g/ every now and again and I always say the same thing: get a lawyer with experience in the business before writing your first line of code or spinning up your first server. There's a mountain of nontechnical hurdles you have to jump over before any of that stuff even becomes relevant.

Pretty fucking easy to start a cam site but incredibly hard to turn a profit, you'll have literally billions of other porn sites competing against you

I mean a site where models can earn money

Recreate stickam
Stickam/blog.tv raids were the pinnacle of my /b/ experience.

You'll still have millions of other cam websites competing against you, back when I had Skype I was constantly getting spam from hundreds of different obscure cam sites

Yeah, that's what I mean. How will they get paid? What payment processor will you use? How will you comply with all the regulations - federal, state, and local - regarding paying models to be (presumably) nude on camera. I'm serious when I say this: consult a lawyer with experience first. If you can actually handle all of the legal and financial shit then the technical stuff will be stupidly easy CRUD.

This guy gets it.
Every time someone talks about a startup idea, I always tell them: the technology is easy, the legal work is hard.
Especially since you're getting money (and nudity) involved, the legal work will be much, much more extensive.
I find it difficult to get my dick hard watching those female and couple chaturbate camwhores.
tfw no anime camsite
