What the flug
Well how old is the other drive?
1TB spread over 5 discs would be fairly slow by todays standards, especially compared to a 1TB spread over 1 or 2 discs as you'd get with most modern drives.

Modern drives are fast.

5 years or so

Well yeah, a 1TB drive from 5 years ago probably has at least 3-4 platters, and maybe even 5.
A 1TB drive today would be using a single 1TB platter (most likely).
The disk that spins twice as fast lasts half as long.
