developer time is more important than CPU time. understand that money is involved in every step of the process, even in FOSS most of the time.

in the mid/late 2000's, many software studios outsourced development work to india. what they got as a result was indefinite amounts of shit and very little communication with their engineers, and thus no control over the end product as a result.
