RAM has very little I'd anything to do with launching an app. The biggest difference is that the iPhone I'd still the only phone I am aware of that uses a PCIe interface and NVME for its flash storage instead of eMMC like most phones.

Now I don't know if things have changed with the new flagship android phones, but I do believe that continues to be the state of things. They may use the newest and fastest eMMC standard, but it's still not as fast as an NVME SSD in a phone.

Android will always be laggy because it's made for the lowest common denominator.

For example Android doesn't fully use GPU acceleration for the UI because phones with 1gb RAM couldn't handle it. So even the Note 7 is laggy.
