Enjoy having all websites done in Squarespace by your boss who has a computer from 2002 that just got 'upgraded' to Windows 10.

All of the web developers where I work are the worst fucking people with technology, but at least they know how to modify six lines of a free bootstrap template to make it match the company colours.

>"Help me Jason, my Dreamweaver is broken!"
"uh have you tried restarting the computer?

Is there anyone who actually likes all these parallax effects and stuff flying around as you scroll? It's incredibly annoying and disorienting. Anyone doing these things should be executed ISIS style.

JavaScript should be used only for stuff like dynamically loading new posts or validating input.

ctrl-click works too if you don't have a decent pointing device

That isn't C.

When a browser follows a javascript: URI, it evaluates the code in the URI and then replaces the contents of the page with the returned value, unless the returned value is undefined. The void operator can be used to return undefined. For example:
<a href="javascript:void(0);">
Click here to do nothing
</a>

<a href="javascript:void(document.body.style.backgroundColor='green');">
Click here for green background
</a>

Note, however, that the javascript: pseudo protocol is discouraged over other alternatives, such as unobtrusive event handlers.
>>
>>56241342
Exactly. Usually this shit is either to cover up a referral link or some spammy link nobody would otherwise click on if they knew what it linked to.

For the money required to hire a decent C programmer, you can hire thousands of Pajeets to rewrite everything in JavaScript.

Well if you know how to use it, it doesn't have to be that bad.
With a static site for example, all you would need is bootstrap, jquery and some css.
The last site I made that way was (according to Vivaldi) 3kb of data to load and it had all the effects you needed.

The problem is people not knowing what theyre doing and just copy/pasting blobs of code from stackoverflow which then don't even work, because they had no idea what they do.
Then also a lot of people are too retarded to save a picture for web and put 4000xwhatever pictures in there which are like 20mb big.

Ive studied design for the past two years and everyone who went and wanted to do 'webdesign' was that kind of shit programmer.

I'm starting to rant; my point is JavaScript/jquery doesn't have to be bad and bloated if the developer understand what the theyre doing.
